Luca Pancrazzi
(Figline Valdarno, 1961)
Luca Pancrazzi was born in 1961 in Figline Valdarno; he lives and works in Milan. Since the 1990s, he is the author of artistic parcours based on the analysis of the medium of art, on the creative possibilities of error and the composite use of techniques and materials. His work frequently recurs to the forms of the natural and metropolitan landscape, wrought with an intense and continuous activity of observation. In the second half of the 1980s, he traveled to the United States, where he worked at Jo Watanabe studio on Sol Lewitt's graphics and wall drawings, and then in Rome at Alighiero Boetti's studio. He expresses himself through painting, drawing, photography, video, environmental installation, sculpture, shared actions with other artists and editorial projects. Since the second half of the 1980s and since 1996 he has been invited to participate in a series of international exhibitions including the Venice Biennale, New Dehli Triennale, Biennal of Cetinje, Vilnius Triennale, Whitney Museum of American Art at Champion, Biennal of Valencia, Quadriennale di Roma and so on. He lives and works between Milan and Finland.
